In Canada, in London (Ontario) hosted the exhibition and International Conference on Precision Agriculture «Precision Agriculture Conference & Ag Tech Showcase». This annual event is dedicated to the development of precision agriculture and innovation in agriculture. Participation in it took about 350 experts and practitioners agribusiness.
During the conference were discussed the issues of precision farming using in agriculture, challenges and opportunities, macro trends that affect the implementation of technologies, innovations funding, reducing the cost of grain through the using of information systems «Precision».
There were presented a lot of reports from precision ag. In particular, talked about the equipment and systems for measurement, storage and management of data on soil properties, laser technology, digital platform for the collection and management of climate data in the crop production, comprehensive solutions for unmanned aerial systems using, satellite monitoring of plant development and yield predicting, soil sampling, VRT.
Viacheslav Adamchuk expert of Agrilab PhD, McGill University, presented the results of modern scientific research and practical application of sensor technology in agriculture. An interesting report was made by Jason Webster, consultant agronomist, Precision Planting, entitled “Use of precision farming on your farm – Multi hybrid crop, alternating fertility rate, variable seed rate, new products from Precision Planting. Researching approach on a farm in Illinois. ” In addition, other experts focused on the integration of engineering and agronomy in precision agriculture.
A special topic of event on the first day of the conference was the development of precision agriculture in Ukraine. It was presented by Yaroslav Boiko, PhD in Agriculture, Co-Founder and CEO of AgriLab.
“Adaptability to manufacture of Ukrainian agriculture is constantly increasing, our farmers are studying successful international experience and adapting the best solutions and innovations in domestic agricultural production. It is very important, that a separate session at the international conference is devoted to the topic of precision ag developing in Ukraine. It is significant for the further development of innovation in our country”, said Yaroslav Boiko.
The experience of leading countries confirms that in a continuous increased cost of resources against a background of falling world prices for agricultural products, modernization and optimization of production – the main way of development of the agricultural sector. And Ukraine has to move in this direction.
