A Little History…
AgriLab began manufacturing its own soil samplers several years ago — specifically, “for ourselves.” Initially, the company’s specialists used imported equipment for soil sampling. However, given the specific characteristics of Ukrainian soil conditions, the equipment had to be modified, improved, and adapted…
Each year, the number of companies looking to conduct soil agrochemical surveys on their fields grew, and so did the demand for soil samplers. “Why buy expensive equipment and then spend additional time, effort, and money improving it? It doesn’t make sense!” That was the thinking at AgriLab, which led the company to develop its own soil sampler.

After years of working across different fields, regions, and conditions, AgriLab has developed an extensive list of requirements for soil sampling equipment.
- Comfort. Our operators work with soil samplers every day, not just a few hours a week. That is why AgriLab’s automatic soil samplers are virtually silent — no buzzing, rattling, or knocking gets in the way of specialists doing their work.
- Convenience. AgriLab operates in different parts of the country, and soil sampling assignments can sometimes involve long-distance travel. The vehicle carrying the soil sampler may also need to accommodate spare tires, fuel, or other equipment. We took this into account when developing our own samplers: during transportation, the equipment folds onto the rear frame, leaving free space in the pickup bed for transporting, for example, collected samples or fuel.
- Speed. Soil sampling is only the first stage of agro-diagnostics. The faster it is completed, the sooner the farmer receives the results. Weather conditions can also force operators to work faster — you need to finish before the rain starts or snow sets in. Every second counts. AgriLab soil samplers can collect a single soil sample in 7 seconds on hard soil. And there is one more important point regarding weather: AgriLab samplers operate successfully even when the soil is frozen at temperatures as low as −25°C. This has been proven through field experience in the harsh climatic conditions of Kazakhstan.
- Durability. Ploughing, deep loosening, or discing? It makes no difference to AgriLab soil samplers — they are designed to operate reliably under all these conditions. The samplers are adapted to different soil types and field conditions. In addition, the sample collection box is enclosed and therefore protected.
- Accuracy and automatic sampling control. AgriLab equipment collects samples at a depth of 30 cm. Each sample receives a barcode and is tracked through an online system. The automated sampling process and control system minimize the impact of the human factor and eliminate the possibility of errors, because accurate analysis begins with accurate sampling.
- Easy repair and maintenance. What if something breaks? In the middle of a field, in a remote village in another region? At the height of the season, when every minute counts? What do you do then? With imported soil samplers, there was only one solution: order replacement parts from abroad and wait. And wait. And wait. AgriLab has been through this as well and took that experience into account. That is why replacement parts for our equipment can be found in virtually any hardware store, easily replaced, and the equipment can quickly be put back into operation. And, of course, manufacturer support is also available.
A Name Known Beyond Ukraine
AgriSoilSampler. For several years now, AgriLab’s automatic soil samplers have been manufactured under this proprietary brand. Initially, the company produced the equipment solely for its own needs, but demand soon emerged on the external market as well. Today, AgriLab soil samplers are used by agricultural holdings and agribusiness consulting companies in Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The equipment helps them conduct high-quality soil agrochemical surveys.
“Our company has been using the soil sampling unit for three years now. It has performed excellently and worked reliably throughout the season, despite the dust and high temperatures during sampling. It is practical to use and easy to set up — it is ready for operation within just a few minutes. During three years of use, there have been only minor repairs, such as replacing a few bolts and springs,” says Oleksii Parfionov, agronomist at Baryshivka Grain Company LLC, which actively implements agricultural innovations and precision farming technologies on its fields.
