That was the name of the seminar held on July 26 by Agrilab for households in the Kiev region. The location was the well-known farm “Biotech” of the famous potato grower and the head of the department NULES Anatoliy Bykin. I will give some theses.
Anatoliy Bykin “Frankly about failures and achievements”
Anatoliy Bykin (Biotech) noted that fertility management provides an opportunity to overcome the “shoals” in technology. He also noted that he has a farm-type farm and therefore the main soil cultivation is important. Some crops, he said, do not respond to soil cultivation. But there is something he does necessarily: grinding plant residues, sowing green manure. He also said that it is important to convey every new idea for implementation to both the agronomist and the tractor driver. And he noted that despite the fact that he has “measurable-measured fields,” the recipe for success in precision farming can be digitized. 20% are Agrilab recommendations, 80% — how the farm will bring them to each field. He said that at least in manual mode, but supports crop rotation.
Yaroslav Boyko, CEO of Agrilab, has compiled quite eloquent statistics on precision farming. So the leaders in precision farming are Chernihiv, Kiev and Kirovohrad regions. Differentiated Ukrainian farmers contribute phosphoric fertilizers, potash, limestone, a complex and a microcomplex according to ranking. The cooperation between Biotech and AGRILAB made it possible for the first to receive an increase in the yield of +0.6 tons of wheat. Despite the high cost of re-equipping a full range of equipment (cultivators, seeders, sprayers) for precision farming (up to $50 per ha), the payback of this set of actions can be from 1 to 3 years.
Practical “case” shared with farmers Yuri Lisak
Volodymyr Mahota, chief of the Agrochemical Department at Agrilab, noted that 60% of the crop depends on soil fertility. Also, important is the technology of cultivation, to use the fertilizers, and weather conditions. We also talked about the potential of the Kiev region lands. Corn can yield up to 12 t / ha, but profitability matters. Sampling is best done if fertilizers can be bought and added in a month.
There was much more in the reports and on the sidelines of the events. KERNEL representative Vitaliy Andryushchenko spoke about the purposeful inter-row cultivation of the soil, which can replace the missed application of plant protection products. This gave an additive of + 6-7 kg / ha. On the sidelines there was also a wonderful saying that the surgeon and the agronomist buried their mistakes in the field. Only the last one disc!
