UCAB Agrotechnology: new topical solutions every time

1300 participants, winners of the Agro Champions Award, Ukraine’s national record and hundreds of pieces of equipment. An event took place in Big Oleksandrivka (Kyiv region) on the basis of Agro-Region LLC – UCAB Agrotechnology 2019.

Event overview – from Growhow.in.ua

Alex Lissits opens the event

– Today the Agrotechnology Day presents the best equipment available in the world. And, despite the fact that there is a lot of work in agriculture now, however, there are so many participants and representatives of companies. And this is extraordinary. I would like to point out that the Ukrainian machine building in agriculture has made a significant step forward in the last three years. And it happened, including thanks to state support. When buying home-made machinery, it is offset by 30%, which, of course, makes it quite interesting for the buyer – says UCAB President Alex Lissits.

Technical solutions for precision farming: demonstration of the best examples of technology

On a field of 21 hectares, more than 30 agricultural units of leading global brands have demonstrated their effectiveness.

The idea of company representatives and industry leaders was to put into practice real-time technical solutions for basic and pre-sowing soil cultivation. In the field, a map of the task was developed, a demonstration of the capabilities of the equipment, the results of the demonstration and expert assessments.

They tested plows, disc-shaped units, deep-tillers, heavy disc harrows, stubble cultivators, strip-till units, vertical tillage units, mineral fertilizer spreaders. Namely: heavy dental harrow Lozova Machinery Lari, cultivator Massey Ferguson 5730-39, Salford 700 cultivator, Lemken Rubin 10 disc harrow, Bednar Atlas AO 6000 Profi disc harrows, Lozova Machinery Ducat 9 disc harrow, Horsch Joker 8 RT Classic, Kuhn Optimer 5000 XL disc harrow, disk header Kverneland Qualidisc 6000 Pro T , intensive stubble cultivator Lemken Karat 12, Great Plains Turbo-Max 6.0 TM vertical tillage unit and more.

First of all, the mineralization of straw with nitrogen was demonstrated.

Mineralization of straw with nitrogen

What is it for?

The acceleration of straw decomposition is 1.5-2 times.

Mineral fertilizer savings by 20-30%.

Increase in yield + 10-20%.

Thus, we tried to accelerate the decay of plant residues, to remove additional trace elements and at the same time to increase soil fertility, – says the chief agrochemist of AgriLab Alexey Tarasenko. – The “running” dose was 10 kgN per 1 ton of straw. We also determined the mass of straw in the field. The ratio of C: N in straw. Actual “situation” in the soil.

In order to determine how much nitrogen fertilizer was to be used, a satellite monitoring was carried out and a yield map was determined.

* determined: yield per field – 2 to 8 t / ha. 5.4 t / ha on average

Soil opportunities were also analyzed. Using organic matter mapping (%) and nitric nitrogen content mapping (mg / kg).

* The agility of agrochemical parameters and the yield showed that an individual approach to the field was needed.

The task for the spreaders was fertilizer: ammonium sulfate N21S24. Application dose: 80 to 190 kg / ha. The average in the field – 137 kg / ha (or 29 kg a.s.N).

As a result: what will we get in 2019-2020?

  1. A “reasonable” distribution of nitrogen dose depending on the straw weight. Similarly, you can work with biodegrades.
  2. Avoiding unproductive losses of nitrogen. Especially important for soils of light granulometric composition.
  3. From 5-6 t / ha of barley straw, about 70-80% of macro- and microelements will be available for the next crop.
  4. Positive impact on soil fertility.

5 t / ha of barley straw: 27 kg N, 11 kg P2O5. 60 kg K2O. 20 kg CaO.

7 kg MgO, 11 kg S.

1500 UAH / ha * assuming it is a complex fertilizer.

Technological solutions using the “Boqballe” spreader (Denmark)

Uniqueness:

  1. The first manufacturer to introduce a weighing system.
  2. The disks rotate to the center and from the center.
  3. 7 degrees of metal purification + “Flexi Coat” powder paint.
  4. Easy setup.
  5. By rotating the center of the disks, the system distributes the fertilizer close to the dispenser throughout the entire application map.

Features:

Differential application.

Disabling sections.

Drive from hydraulics or from GP.

3 year shaft line guarantees.

Calibrator or ISOBUS control units.

Weighting system.

All the spreaders presented today have coped with the task as we saw on the map of technological operations. The rule is adhered to. Switching is happening. They worked on the map of the task, – said the leading consultant of SmartFarming company Vadim Ostapenko.

Agrility Density’s innovative corn sowing technology from Limagrain Ukraine

Since 2000, the company’s hybrids have been tested at different densities and tested for behavior in different conditions. The main reasons for starting this process were the factors that affect the yield: density and hybrid. We, as a company, can help every farmer maximize yield potential at optimal costs. The company analyzes satellite data and develops its algorithm for each hybrid. In 2017, we tested in fields with low and high heterogeneity. The results showed that the company presented variable seed rate service will be most effective in the fields with high heterogeneity. The service is suitable for use by large and small businesses – said product manager of Limagrain Ukraine Volodymyr Kuzmich.

How to optimize profitability through density?

The density to achieve the highest yield is determined by one thing: the resources available.

Using too high or too low a density can be negative due to the form of the relationship between yield and density.

If you do not have favorable conditions, strong soil heterogeneity, low yielding areas of the field – then it is necessary to select the optimal density in order for the hybrid to yield the highest yield from a certain area of the field, – emphasizes Vladimir Kuzmich. —Why is this effective? After analyzing all the data in 2018 on the heterogeneous site of the village  Bystrivka, Ruzhin Zhytomyr region when compared with a control band received an increase in yield of 6%. It is almost 2000 UAH / ha.

Comprehensive crop inspection and season monitoring

According to Vadim Ostapenko, a leading consultant of SmartFarming company, it is possible to refuse culture, but it is impossible to refuse technological operations.

Key stages:

  1. Soil cultivation (understanding the depth of tilling). You can install special equipment (sensors) that will show the depth of loosening.
  2. Fertilizer application. A “smart” solution creates a special fertilizer card. And then it monitors how the introduction was made – real-time analysis is done.
  3. Introducing plant protection products (switching off sections, compliance with standards).
  4. Sowing (monitoring of sowing in real time, compliance with all rules). Implementation of section disconnection on overlays – automatically. Carrying out differentiated sowing (corn).
  5. Harvesting (creating a crop map).
  6. Performance analysis (report).

The solutions you need right now:

  • The use of a penetrometer.
  • Agrochemical field examination (sampling, laboratory study). The basic approach is to take the area and amount of fertilizers and redistribute it across the field.
  • Staircase monitoring (classic method).

* Novelty is a Pogostick technological solution – equipment that enables the plants to be recorded, automatically counted between them, and the data recorded.

* it is also possible to fix the stairs now with drone flight.

– It is important to use weather monitoring for spraying operations.

– Aerofotoplan.

– It is important for all technological operations to track weather conditions, especially for spraying operations. The main indicators are temperature, humidity and wind speed. Such studies are possible with the use of mobile anemometers or small meteorological stations, which are mounted on a tractor or a self-propelled sprayer, – Vadim Ostapenko emphasized.

Later in the event, visitors were able to see a demonstration of machinery, tractor test drive, express training and applied master classes on the selection and implementation of precision farming technology, the setting up of trailers and more.
