Up – to – date technologies development and practical introduction of effective technologies into agricultural production of Ukraine continue to amaze. Today we are going to told about unique service – nitrogen diagnostics of crops vegetation with usage of multiple lab and DRON. How crop feeding diagnostics helps to increase yield on fields and optimize costs on nitrogen fertilization, look at the example of Chernihiv’s agrarians from IST AGRO SERVICE.

PRACTICAL CALCULATION

Head of the plant management department of IST AGRO SERVICE company, Oleh Bilan tells, that their enterprise carries out analysis and results of effectiveness introduced technological decisions in farming every year.

During last several years, IST AGRO SERVICE actively collaborate with AgriLab company on the introduction and realization separate elements of precision agriculture. Due to the resulting of high economical effectiveness on the massif of field in the last year, where was used complex agrodiagnostics, in the 2016 was made decision to use new service for enterprise – nitrogen feeding diagnostics on cro1ps vegetation.

In consequence, systems of feeding winter wheat by CAM were analyzed on the area approximately 1000 hectares and corn on area 4000 hectares.

Recommended nitrogen feeding rate per hectare on winter wheat varied from 20 to 65 active mixtures per kg., depending on available elements of soil nutrition and plant condition.

Nitrogen feeding diagnostics of crops implements in several stages:

1 stage – getting maps of crops vegetative mass distribution on field (index NDVI)

Data use from satellites or DRONs.  The last one – are more reliable in terms of receiving data speed, especially if there is cloudiness.

2 stage – map of mass distribution allows to determine homogeneous areas on plant condition and development, develop rotes and carry out operative soil sampling.

 3 stage – soil analysis and determination of individual indicators depending on crops:pH, mineral nitrogen (NO3 +NH4), mobile sulfur (S-SO4) and zinc (Zn).

4 stage – plants potential assessing in the homogeneous zone and using algorithm for calculation of effective nitrogen needs, sulfur and other.

 5 stage – development of recommendations and map-tasks for differentiated fertilization

Next, the crew arrives to farm with DRON specialists, mobile lab, sensor equipment for water and physical measurement of soil properties and drills for sampling with linking to GPS. Process is operative and allows during the day to get the results and recommendations on feeding and expected benefit.

 

FULL DATA AND RECOMMENDATION PACKAGE FOR COSTUMER ICLUDES NEXT INFORMATION:

-map of biomass distribution on field with underlined homogeneous zones

-protocol with results of agrochemical analysis

-recommendations on implementation of macro and microelements feeding, as on homogeneous area, so on field as a whole

-farms, which have techniques for differentiated fertilization, get map-task for differentiated fertilization

Director of AgriLab company, Iaroslav Boiko noted, that certain tool allows effectively manage nitrogen, distributing it depending on soil content. Also it helps provide optimal correlation with sulfur, take into account condition of plant development on field.

«Such decisions are tool for nutrition regime management, but they work, when in the farm all stages of growth technology have done right and critical factors in soil is absent, for example, potassium deficiency, phosphorus and other», -explained expert.

 Representative of IST AGRO SERVIS, Oleh Bilan specified, that according to the results and recommendations, has been changed identical to enterprise feeding system on massif of field on individual decision for each field, according to results of nitrogen feeding diagnostics.

«In fact gathering winter wheat, planed yield according to analyses has been calculated with accuracy to +-1-2quintal/hectare. Economical effectiveness in the company is calculated taking into account optimization of feeding system, executed and over fulfilled yield plan of winter wheat in a number of fields. With more lower expenses for feeding system – result is obvious», – said Oleh Bilan.
