Today, July 24, a general meeting of members of the Ukrainian Association of Potato producers took place at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences. The participants of the event considered information about state of potatoes planting from the regions, found out about modern approaches to the protection of the harvest, and determined with a plan of measures for the coming months. Also during the meeting there was a presentation of the project of consulting support and discussion of the laboratory component of the system of fertilization.

The discussion about principles of effective fertilizer system was held at the AgriLab’s office. Farmers found out more about the advantages of complex field expertise and veriable rate aplication of fertilizers.

“Soil analysis is the foundation for effective management system. The experience of AgriLab’s clients shows that only a qualitative analysis of the soil increases the efficiency of resources using from 20%, and the technology of differentiated fertilization – more than 40%“,- said Alexander Gaidai, an analyst of AgriLab.

The effectiveness of total field expertice was confirmed by Anatoliy Bykin, CEO of “Biotech LTD”. Last year, AgriLab conducted a soil analysis on the fields of its company: “We decided to conduct an analysis of 147 hectares. And for the experiment, in parallel with AgriLab, we performed the analysis according to the traditional method. AgriLab picked up soil samples in one day by automated sampler, while for hand sampling was spend 3 days. Then AgriLab conducted an agrochemical analysis, identified heterogeneous zones, estimated the potential of the field and calculated the recommended fertilizer rates. The results obtained by the traditional method were approximately the same, but it took a lot more time to get them.”

So, a qualitative soil analysis saves not only material resources, but also – time. And it is one of the greatest values.
