The partnership between BioAspect and AgriLab began back in 2016, when the farm was just getting started and cultivated around 200 hectares.
Today, its land bank has grown more than tenfold to 2,500 hectares — with this growth supported by precise soil data.
“The changes are noticeable. We had areas with locally elevated soil acidity. After conducting zone-based soil analyses, we were able to address those areas individually and increase amendment rates where needed. We are now seeing positive dynamics: less degradation, improved soil condition and more uniform yields across the field,” says Serhii Protsiuk, Chief Agronomist at BioAspect.
A Systematic Approach Is the Foundation of Results
The farm has adopted a systematic soil-testing strategy, conducting comprehensive analyses every five years. Every newly acquired field is immediately assessed to ensure that the data remain up to date.
“As of January 2024, we had analyzed 100% of our land bank. When we added more than 1,000 hectares, we analyzed those fields immediately as well. And that is how we approach every new field.”
Attention to Detail: Micronutrients Matter
BioAspect goes beyond basic NPK parameters. The farm pays close attention to micronutrients, as these often determine the final result.
The diagnostics revealed a zinc deficiency — a critical issue for corn. Soybeans and sunflower required attention to different nutrients. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all formula, the farm adjusts its nutrient management strategy to each crop, based on AgriLab’s recommendations.

An unexpected finding came from fields with limestone parent material.
“Visually, the soil appeared to be neutral, but the analysis showed elevated acidity. This information allowed us to apply the right amendments and prevent phosphorus and potassium from becoming unavailable to the crop.”
$40–50 per Hectare Saved: When Precision Pays
The analysis results enabled the farm to optimize fertilizer costs by an average of $40–50 per hectare.
“We found that some areas did not require high rates of potassium or nitrogen fertilizers because the soil already had sufficient reserves. This allowed us to reduce costs while improving the efficiency of our nutrient management.”
AgriLab — A Trusted Partner
The reason BioAspect chose AgriLab was its professionalism and the trust built over years of cooperation.
“We were completely satisfied with the level of expertise and the quality of the analyses. Over the years, we have only become more convinced that we made the right choice.
We are also happy with the response time and quality of communication. There was a situation when we urgently needed soil samples collected, and AgriLab responded quickly and carried out the sampling.”
