The agro-consulting company AgriLab, which provides agro-services and precision farming, under its own brand, has started the production of equipment for automated sampling of soil for agrochemical analysis.
According to the company’s report, these samplers became a high-quality alternative to expensive foreign equipment, which prevailed in Ukrainian fields earlier. Domestic equipment is more adapted to the peculiarities of the soil and field conditions of Ukraine and has affordable and fast service.
“Automated GPS samplers with the reference of sampling points are required for agrochemical soil surveys, according to modern criteria and, in particular, for the introduction of precision farming technologies,” the report said.
It is noted that the considerable advantage of domestic samplers is adaptability under different soils, automation, observance of the given depth and quality of selection, speed of selection by storm even on solid or dry soils, and also the ability to select samples in winter. The use of equipment manufactured in Ukraine will provide soil research services, in particular for the needs of precise agriculture – more affordable.
“Samplers from AgriLab already use a number of agricultural holdings, as well as companies providing soil survey services. To date, only the company AgriLab by automated samplers of its own production has selected about 100 thousand samples for different technologies, which allowed to digitize the distribution of different properties of soils on an area of more than 800 thousand hectares”, – said Yaroslav Boyko, AgriLab SEA.
According to him, the correct and accurate sampling of soil – the first step to digital agriculture and the practical implementation of elements of precision farming. Moreover, such an approach allows precisely to trace the dynamics of soil fertility changes from the impact of technologies, to control the quality of soils and to avoid deterioration of their properties.
